Lytton

Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton
E. Bulwer Lytton
PC (25 May 1803 – 18 January 1873), was an English novelist, poet, playwright, and politician. He was immensely popular with the reading public and wrote a stream of bestselling novels which earned him a considerable fortune. He coined the phrases "the great unwashed, "The House and the Brain*","pursuit of the almighty dollar", "the pen is mightier than the sword", as well as the infamous opening line "It was a dark and stormy night".The English Rosicrucian society, founded in 1867 by Robert Wentworth Little, claimed Bulwer-Lytton as their 'Grand Patron', but he wrote to the society complaining that he was 'extremely surprised' by their use of the title, as he had 'never sanctioned such'.[12] Nevertheless, a number of esoteric groups have continued to claim Bulwer-Lytton as their own, chiefly because some of his writings—such as the 1842 book Zanoni—have included Rosicrucian and other esoteric notions.

    Paul Gauguin Gemini Artist

Eugène Henri Paul Gauguin (7 June 1848 – 8 May 1903) was a leading Post-Impressionist painter. His bold experimentation with coloring led directly to the Synthetist style of modern art while his expression of the inherent meaning of the subjects in his paintings, under the influence of the cloisonnist style, paved the way to Primitivism and the return to the pastoral. He was also an influential exponent of wood engraving and woodcuts as art forms.

Paul Gauguin was born in Paris, France to journalist Clovis Gauguin and half-Peruvian Aline Maria Chazal, the daughter of proto-socialist leader Flora Tristan. In 1851 the family left Paris for Peru, motivated by the political climate of the period. Clovis died on the voyage, leaving three-year old Paul, his mother and his sister to fend for themselves. They lived for four years in Lima, Peru with Paul's uncle and his family. The imagery of Peru would later influence Paul in his art.

Ruth Shick Montgomery (June 11, 1912 – June 10, 2001) was a self-described Christian psychic in the tradition of Jeane Dixon and Edgar Cayce. She was a biographer of Dixon and a protégée of Arthur Ford who claimed he (like Cayce) could access the Akashic Records (or database) of the Universe.

Montgomery initially believed her mission on Earth was to educate the public on her belief in life after death, which is common among spiritualists. However, she also studied reincarnation and came to believe that mental and physical illnesses often have their origins in past lives.

With other like-minded mystics, Montgomery founded the Association for Past Life Research and Therapy. Her many books (which she says were channelled via Automatic writing from her spirit guides) popularised spiritualist notions in public consciousness in the 1970s through the 1990s, and paved the way for what is now known as New Age religion. Montgomery is particularly noted for her popularization of walk-in theory whereby a person's soul can depart a hurt or anguished body and be replaced with a new soul to take over the body.
